Welcome to the CSSA Residents’ Page. This area is constantly changing and growing to fit our needs as Anesthesiology residents.  As informational needs increase and change, we hope to expand this section and have more pages and links dealing with local and national issues including meetings, political activities, ABA information and much more.

Remember, this is a page built for you by you, so if a topic is lacking, let us know. Contact your current delegate (see below) and keep abreast of current happenings in your Society. After all, it’s our future interests that we’re cultivating.

Resident Delegate - Duties

• Represent your institution and participate in all suggested projects.
• Help build a strong resident component society and become active in the governance of both the CSSA and the ASA.
• Support the ASA Resident Component Society and nominate one or two CSSA Resident Delegates for an elected office.
• Be a mentor to the alternate delegate in your district and communicate to all the residents in your program.
• Work with your resident director and the CSSA office to maintain a strong resident program in Connecticut.
• Attend the ASA Resident House of Delegates and Resident Representative Committee every October. ASA determines how many delegates can attend the meeting, so sign up early with the CSSA office.
• Attend CSSA Board meetings when they are scheduled in your area. A great place to learn the governance of the Society.

Resident Alternate Delegate - Duties

• Try to attend the CSSA and ASA Resident House of Delegates meetings.
• Be an active participator with the CSSA Web Site.
• Stay in contact with your delegate and help with projects assigned by the resident director.
• Serve as delegate of your program the next year. See above for duties of a resident delegate.
